The HSE provides:

• Advice to the Secretary of State on the creation and amendment of Regulations.
• Information and guidance for all industries.
• Directly enforces regulated industries.

There is also HSE Northern Ireland (HSENI) and Procurator Fiscal (Scotland).

HSENI is a Northern Ireland non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department for the Economy similar to the HSE.

The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) is Scotland’s prosecution service. They receive reports about crimes from the police and other reporting agencies and then decide what action to take, including whether to prosecute someone and also look into deaths that need further explanation.
